De Re Metallica: Book of Old Mine

The first book to explore in depth the science of mine is none other than De Re Metallica. This book is written in Latin by Georgius Agricola and published in 1556
If translated into English, the title will be On the Nature of Minerals, is the author's name will be read into Georg Bauer.
Over the next 250 years, this book became a reference. Agricola spent 9 years at Joachimsthal, now including the Czech Republic, conducting research and observation for his book.

De Re Metallica, concerning assessment mainly contains minerals (mineral prospecting), the origin of the formation of alluvial deposits, and ore distribution. But he also talked about how the mining business is run, come to some common diseases suffered by miners.
Mining methods are peeled mainly concerned with underground mines. De Re Metallica is equipped with detailed illustrations such as how to treat a variety of minerals like gold and tin.
The machines are involved in processing are also discussed in full and long. The book is often referred to by Agricola as a source of Natural History writing is written by Pliny the Elder, books on mining methods that were written in the year 77 AD.

De Re Metallica was first translated in English in 1912. Translators were Herbert Hoover, a mining engineer who later became U.S. president, along with his wife Lou Henry Hoover, a geologist and Latin.
This translation of the book includes many footnotes and get credit for the clarity of the translation.
