Hot Work (Work with Heat) at Mine (PART 1)
Jobs that use an open flame, or generate heat / open flame / sparks. Such as working with burrs, welder Cut, welder, brazing, soldering, Heat with torch.
Hot Work should only be done where the work is Hot Work permitted.
Within a radius of 15 meters:
• All extinguishers in good condition
• Floors are free from combustible materials
• Curtain welder mounted
• Hot Work Signs jobs
• Minimum of a Fire Watch

If the work is done on the tank, piping, or storage of flammable materials (flammable), the medium must 'purging 'first:
1. Emptied of flammable material
2. Drained with water
3. Filled with water to a height of work
There should be no job Hot Work on the appliance / unit on the fuel system and accumulator system
If Hot Work is done in Confined Space
• Check for the presence / residual combustible materials including gas
• All openings have been closed
• Available supply of air from the outside
• The use of SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus)
• All people have been reminded of the use of PPE and emergency equipment
